Patrick McCloskey's Photo Essay

Many residents across campus wonder what resident assistants actually do. RA Dillon likes to let his residents know his location, via his "where am I?" sign on his door.

A student first, RA Dillon studies outside of the 1940 residence hall.

RAs have some administrative duties that need to be done. Dillon makes a poster for a building event later that week.

Another part of the job is getting keys for residents who occasionally get locked out.

But there's always time to have fun. Dillon sets up a mouse trap by the computer mouse in the office. It never fools anyone, but he does it almost everyday.

Dillon talks to his resident LaCole about her day. It's difficult for an RA to get to their room without the usual chat with one of their residents.

Finally some relaxation! Shutting his door to escape, Dillon benefits from an hour alone with his guitar.

Building meetings are held once a week for RAs to discuss event ideas.

Another school day down, Dillon disappears into his hall, but the job never ends.
