After class we all met up at the Anderson food court to grab lunch and talk about where we should skate. Of course, no one has any good ideas, so we decide to go to Cecil.

Cecil is located on Broad and Cecil B. Moore Avenue, and serves as the meet up spot for all of our friends. Sometimes it's easy to get caught up skating there all day, especially when the grate is propped up like a ledge. Here is Ian getting some with a backside lipslide.

After skating for a while we decide to meet up with some friends who claim they've found a new spot on 3rd and Fairmount. Although skeptical we hop into Mully's car and venture to go check it out. Here is his trunk full of all the essentials for documenting skating; skateboards, camera bag, and a generator.

We arrive on 3rd and Fairmount to discover that the spot they spoke so highly of was in fact a bar. What a surprise! Here are our friends Jeb, Bill, Pat, and Bubba drinking and lurking on the corner.

After a while they tell us of a "nugget" spot they found around the corner from the bar. A "nugget" is something like an abstract spot, with unorthodox ways of skating it, and are almost always kept secret. Here we head up 3rd street to go find it.

Although this spot seemed less than impressive to most of us, Bill seemed to have no problem giving it a whirl. The object of this spot is to launch off of the mellow bump located right before that black grate, launching over the gap and grinding the single stair in front of it. Here Bill warms up by launching his ollie out near the stair, testing the bump out.

Unfortunately, this spot was not meant to be. After about 25 minutes this lady showed up, parked in front of the spot and asked us to leave. Bubba and Jeb attempt to argue their way out of it, but Bill's trick will have to wait for another day.

At this point the crew is split into two groups. Jeb, Bill, Bubba, and Pat all want to go skate some banks on Spring Garden street while Ian, Mully and myself were still undecided. Here Bubba buttboards down 3rd street at full speed, clearly over the session.

The three of us decided to kill some time before the ranger at Love retired for the evening. We hung out in front of the Franklin Institute and skated this little two stair statue for a while to keep occupied. Here Mully is nosemanuling across our little obstacle, probably so bummed I was taking this photo.

While dorking around at this spot, an older lady approached us, handing us each a flower. She went on to explain that three girls sitting in the grass in the nearby park asked her to give them to us on thier behalf. Here is Ian, flower in hand, clearly on the dawn of true love.

Shortly after the flower incident, I put the camera back into the car and we headed out to Love. Good thing I decided to leave it, because after a few short hours of skating, we were chased out by bike cops. Even though it looks like we didn't accomplish much on this day, we still had a lot of fun, which is what skating is all about anyway.
